Using Junk Store Pro
On this page
Documentation for people using Junk Store Pro, rather than building extensions for it.
This documents Junk Store Pro, not the free Decky plugin. The two share a name and a good deal of behaviour, but they aren’t the same product. Much of what’s described here either works differently on the plugin or isn’t there at all. If you’re on the plugin, read this as background rather than as instructions.
New here, or wondering why this is so long? How Junk Store Pro is put together explains the layers: what most people use, what’s underneath, and why there’s always another way to try something.
How to use this document
Don’t read it front to back. It’s a reference. The tables below are the map, and each page stands alone.
Start where your question is. Store tabs and game grids covers day-to-day use. A game’s own settings and A store’s settings cover the two cogs. The File Manager covers the tools.
If a word is unfamiliar, the glossary explains the vocabulary without assuming you know it.
If a setting isn’t on your screen, raise the visibility level. That’s almost always the reason, and it’s the most useful single fact about this interface.
Expect it to lag a little. Junk Store Pro changes faster than its documentation does, so a screen may have gained something this hasn’t caught up with, or a label may have been improved since. Where the two disagree, believe your Deck. The principles hold up better than the particulars.

The File Manager
The File Manager is the most capable part of Junk Store Pro, and the least obvious, so it has a few pages to itself.

| Using the File Manager | Moving around, two panes, selecting, copying and deleting, archives |

| Reaching another machine | Browsing another computer over SSH: pairing, what access it grants, managing trusted keys |
| File Manager reference | Every shortcut, and what to do when something misbehaves |
Settings and diagnostics
| Page | Covers |
|---|---|
| Settings | Update channels, offline mode, artwork keys, SSH keys, on SELECT+A |
| Diagnostics | The process monitor, backend checks and system info, on SELECT+Y |
Building an extension rather than using one is covered separately, in Extensions.
