Kia ora Everyone!

This week’s round of giveaways was a lot of fun to test. A mix of nostalgia and my fave genre made for some longer than intended ‘testing’ sessions. While I was busy testing, Eben was busy making updates to the File Manager and testing the new support system in the Portal. To be honest, I’m not sure who was having more fun.

I couldn’t get one of the Amazon giveaway games, Sin Slayers: Reign of The 8th, to run. From what I could find online this is a known issue, I just couldn’t track down the fix this weekend. I’ll keep looking and may even get Eben to help work out what’s going on, then report back.

Less than a month now before we go and house/cat sit for friends, so need to tear ourselves away from work to do some things on the boat. I’ll need to prod Eben otherwise he’ll just keep working and we’ll run out of time. He hates it when I have to make him take a break to do something else, ah well guess someone has to be the bad guy sometimes.

In case you missed Eben’s two Dev updates, be sure you have a read of them as he’s done some pretty cool stuff this week. You can read more about them here:

Epic Games Giveaway

This week featuring The Ouroboros King, Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks.

The Ouroboros King
The Ouroboros King Epic

This game kicked my butt! Just like Pawnbarian did when I first started playing it, but I'm not discouraged and will put this in my rotation of games. I'm not one for a full game of chess, that's Eben's thing, but I do like these chess style battle games even if they are challenging! The mechanics still elude me, I'll need to figure out how to use the special skills or extras in the game. I did manage to figure out the rewind feature, used that quite a bit until it ran out! Fun game if you are into them, a good one to keep your brain ticking over.

I'm not really a fan of competitive online multiplayer games, but if you are then this game will be one for you! Looks like it could be a fun game, but I'd need to have access to a better internet connection if I was to try it again solo against bots. But if you are keen for a change from Rocket League and want some more vehicle combat then give this one a spin.

Amazon Prime Gaming

This week featuring G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra, Paradise Killer, Tested on Humans: Escape Room.

G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra
G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra Epic

Massive 90's flashback with this game and I was in heaven! The opening screen gave me instant vibes of TMNT: Shredder's Revenge and Double Dragon, and I was hooked straight away! These games instantly take me back to my childhood playing on my NES, Gameboy, Sega Genesis and Sega Game Gear, man those were the days! Needless to say I'll be going back to this game and I'll have to start up TMNT again too!

Paradise Killer
Paradise Killer GOG

I remember testing this game when it was given away on Epic and didn't think much of it back then. This time around I actually found it to be a game I might enjoy, the interesting characters, it being a murder mystery, and that it's inspired by H.P. Lovecraft is enough for me to give it another try. Ugh, yet another game added to my backlog haha.

Tested on Humans: Escape Room GOG

After previous Escape Room giveaways, needless to say I was looking forward to this one! I can't express how much I really enjoy these puzzle games, they really trigger something in my brain and I can't put them down. If like me you enjoyed the other Escape Room games then you'll enjoy this one too! I am looking forward to the day Eben and I can take some time to work our way through our backlogs! Eben is better than me at having restraint. He can play a game for a bit then put it down, where I can play for hours and hours. All good though, happy to add another to my backlog so I have lots to choose from when the time comes!
