Decky Loader conflict has been resolved in version 3.0

Mafia III: Definitive Edition & Rogue Waters + 3 More - Steam Deck Tested | Jun 9

Kia ora Everyone!

Geeez it’s been cold this past week, and windy as! I even felt a bit seasick sitting on the mooring at one point, which is not normal for me. Eben is usually the one who gets seasick, not me. Luckily I was ok after taking a short break and having some lunch.

Other than the weather changing on us, not much else has happened this week. Eben has set up a support ticketing system in the Portal, and he’s written up the full details in his latest dev update. It lets you upload logs from Junk Store Pro to help us diagnose issues quicker and easier. We’ve tested it out this past week with some users and managed to fix some bugs with itch integration along the way.

In case you missed it, you can catch up on last week’s tested games too.

Current System Setup

  • Junk Store Pro: v3.0.1.0 (Beta Channel)
  • Junk Store Plugin: v1.1.13 (Main/Default)

  • Decky Loader: v3.2.5-pre1 (Prerelease)

Epic Games Giveaway

This week featuring Rogue Waters and Songs of Conquest.

Rogue Waters
Rogue Waters Epic

As you know we live aboard out boat (going on 9 and a half years now) so it shouldn't be a surprise to you that I enjoyed 'testing' this game! I will definitely be going back to this turn-based game, if only to be able to call the Kraken in battle!

This game would be something that Eben would enjoy as I know he would like to acquire HOMM at some point. While it's not a type of game I generally like, I had no issues with it in testing but I'm just not a fan of this type of game. If, like Eben, you enjoy HOMM or similar games then this is one for you!

Amazon Prime Gaming

This week featuring Mafia III: Definitive Edition and Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered.

Mafia III: Definitive Edition
Mafia III: Definitive Edition GOG

If you have been collecting free games from Amazon, then you may already have this in your collection. If not then you'll appreciate another installment of the Mafia franchise. This game carries on with the story of Lincoln Clay and his quest for vengeance for his family. I do look forward to finding time to play through this franchise as I have had fun testing each game in turn, I'll need a lot of time put aside though. Fingers crossed I find some over winter.

Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered Epic

Nice to add another game to my Tomb Raider collection! Just like the Mafia games this is a franchise I really want to get stuck into. Hopefully I can get through them all before the next installment is released, which looks like early next year. Eight months or so should be a long enough runway to try and find time, right? Hahaha should be, but knowing me they will still be on my backlog in 2028!

Other Free Games

Also available this week: XCOM: Chimera Squad.

XCOM: Chimera Squad
XCOM: Chimera Squad GOG

I appreciate all the franchise games being given away recently, it's nice to be able to add to or complete collections. This is the third game from XCOM franchise I've collected, and another one that was fun to test. This one is a new story, but still has the familiar XCOM characteristics. I do think I enjoyed this one more than previous installments, I can't put my finger on why but it was a fun game to spin up and test out. I guess I'll have to go back to the others and try them out again, maybe I'll like them just as much.

Looking Forward

Next up on the free games front:

Epic Games: Epic’s got The Ouroboros King and Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks coming this week. I’m looking forward to The Ouroboros King as I am a fan of Pawnbarian, which is yet another game I need to get back to!

Amazon Prime Gaming: Amazon Prime Gaming has a bunch worth grabbing too. There are three GOG games on offer; Tested on Humans: Escape Room, Sin Slayers: Reign of the 8th, and Paradise Killer.

They are also giving one Epic code away for G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra. We’ll get these tested once they’re live.
