Calico & LoneStar + 2 More - Steam Deck Tested | June 1
Kia ora Everyone!
Sadly our amazing streak of autumn weather has come to an end. A massive patch of rain, wind and thunderstorms moved up the country from the south. The past couple of days have been windy with a few patches of rain, fingers crossed the worst of it all hits the mainland and passes us by as it moves further north.
We decided to splurge and pick up the Capcom Classic Bundle from Fanatical, the one with the Resident Evil games. That’s a franchise I enjoyed as movies, so I’m looking forward to giving the games a go soon. It’s still available if you’re keen, and just in case you didn’t know, I post the latest bundles and free games in our Discord server. Feel free to join and follow those channels so you don’t miss out!

Epic Games Giveaway
This week featuring Calico, LoneStar.
Ever wanted to run your own cat cafe? If so, this is your chance. It's a cute and cozy sim about setting one up. You get to wander around finding cats for the cafe, play with them, pick them up, and if you pet them they purr! Not sure I'll be going back to this one, but it was fun to test out being a cat person.

The theme music had Eben thinking I was testing a western-themed game. Boy was he surprised when I told him it was a deckbuilder set in space, but it clicked when I told him the name. This was a fun one to test. Took me a while to figure some things out, but I managed to win a few battles before totally getting rocked. The text can be a little hard to read, but if you enjoy this genre then this one might pique your interest for a few quick sessions. Hopefully my next session is more successful, probably not but I can live in hope, hahaha.

This week featuring Pro Basketball Manager 2026, The Mystery Of The Moon.
While I love to watch basketball, most sports really, I'm not a fan of managing them myself. It started up out of the box without issue, so if you want to try your hand at managing a basketball team, give it a spin.

Now this game sucked me in for longer than it should have, but then again I do like shoot-em-ups. I did have it set to easy, so I can't say I totally kicked butt (but I will!). It was a bit of fun to play. I'll try again on a harder difficulty, but the run-and-gun style reminded me that Eben and I have to get back to Borderlands 2 at some point!
