Hogwarts Legacy & Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure + 3 More - Steam Deck Tested | May 6
Kia ora Everyone!
It’s been a busy week. Eben has been head down bum up on Junk Store things while I’ve been busy on the website. A few changes worth flagging.
I’ve added a page that pulls together all the current free games on offer, so they’re easy to claim in one spot. It’s not exhaustive, but I do my best to keep it up to date. If you’d rather catch giveaways live, our Discord channels also track free games and bundles so you don’t miss out.
Game testing results have moved out of the old modals and into proper individual game pages, like the new Hogwarts Legacy page. I’ve added Metacritic scores, How Long to Beat times, and other helpful info. Browse them all and let me know what you think.
I’ve also updated our Uptime / Status page for Junk Store Pro so you can keep an eye on any issues from Steam updates. So far we haven’t had any, and it’s been stable since launch over a month ago.

Epic Games Giveaway
This week featuring Hogwarts Legacy, Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure.
I loved the Harry Potter books when they came out, even if I was a bit older than the intended audience. This open-world action RPG looks like a fun way to wander back into Hogwarts: explore, cast spells, brew potions. I just wish I could sip a butterbeer while I play!

This is the kind of game I could lose days to and forget everything else I'm supposed to be doing. An automation-and-strategy adventure set in a strange fantasy world, which is exactly the kind of thing I'd binge. I'm going to have to show some restraint and put off revisiting until I've got a lot of free time on my hands.

This week featuring KinnikuNeko: Super Muscle Cat, Pinball Spire.
Cat? Bodybuilder? Why not both in one character!? A 2D platformer throwback to when games were a bit weird and a lot of fun, with 90s anime vibes for good measure. I spent more time testing this than I should have, to be honest, and I'll definitely be going back for more. Perfect for killing a short gaming session.

Pinball with a twist! It's a "pinballvania" where you bounce your way up through a mysterious tower. Loved testing it, though I tumbled all the way back down a few too many times. Definitely needs more practice. I couldn't test the Decky version this round (GOG's CDN was giving me grief), but I'll update the game page once I get it downloaded.

EAC was added to Rocket League recently, so I gave it a re-test to make sure it still ran on Steam Deck. Good news: it works straight out of the box, you just need to enable EAC from the Proton Config menu before you launch.

Next up on the free games front:
Epic Games:
Next week’s Epic giveaways look like they’d be right up my alley! I can’t wait to “test” those games. Might have to get Eben to put me on a timer so I don’t get too carried away.
Trash Goblin, a cosy shopkeeping game where you uncover, clean and upcycle trinkets to sell to quirky customers.
Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure, a role-puzzler following a small-town misfit out into a world ruled by a strange “static” force.
Amazon Prime Gaming: Not sure what’s on offer for the rest of this month just yet, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
