DOOMBLADE & The Whispering Valley + 2 More - Steam Deck Tested | Apr 30
G’day Everyone!
We’ve had some amazing weather this past week and here I thought winter was already upon us. The weather forecast for our winter looks pretty sweet, a dry winter for us in the North Island. Maybe, just maybe we will be able to take some time and knock off some DIY jobs on our floating home (fingers crossed)!
We will be antifouling (cleaning and painting) the bottom of the boat at some point in the next couple of months. This entails a couple of days traipsing around in the mud between high tides. It’s a hard and dirty job. Thankfully it only has to be done once a year!
Anyways, sorry for the late post this week. I’ve been head down working on some things while keeping an eye on the NBA finals. I’ll do my best to be more timely this weekend.

Epic Games Giveaway
This week featuring DOOMBLADE.
This was my favourite of the bunch this week. I do enjoy this genre and the gameplay was just what I was in the mood for. Once you free and wield DOOMBLADE, you hack and slash your way through enemies in your quest for vengeance. I'll be keeping this one on my Steam Deck for now.

This week featuring The Pale Beyond, Neo Cab.
The story is intriguing and the balancing act behind every decision could mean life or death for your crew. It reminded me of the TV show 'The Terror', based on the real life expedition of two British Navy ships that became trapped in the Arctic ice in 1845. I'm looking forward to coming back to this one with a clearer head.

I'm not really one for visual novels, so this didn't grab me from the start. I do like that while testing I get exposed to games I would normally skip. Unfortunately, this is one that won't be making my backlog.

This week featuring The Whispering Valley.
This is one of my favourite types of game, a point and click puzzle with a theme that I rather enjoy. Another similar dark point and click series I've enjoyed is the Creepy Tale franchise. Pretty dark, but oh so much fun! I can't wait to get back to it and get stuck into solving the mystery behind 'The Whispering Valley'.
