Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch & RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition + 2 More - Steam Deck Tested | Jun 28
Kia ora Everyone!
What a week! Could do with getting back to more chill, quiet ones, what with the unexpected mooring move late at night in less than ideal weather. Couple that with needing to manage our extremely low supply of LPG (our only way to cook and heat water up on the boat), and it was a pretty stressful week. To top it all off, I had to make a supply run to the city for LPG and, just as important, coffee beans! I also grabbed a top-up of groceries and petrol (for our generator) to see us through the next two weeks until we go house/cat sitting for friends.
I had just enough energy today to test this week’s giveaways, and there were some pretty good games in the mix! I’ve also made sure to find time this week, as has Eben, to actually play some games from our backlogs. Eben is still making his way through Cyberpunk 2077, and I’m switching between Freshly Frosted from Epic (started over a year ago) and Necroworm on Steam (can’t remember when I started that one). Both are very similar puzzle games, so I’m happy to add this week’s Voidwrought to the mix for a break.
The one I couldn’t get sorted this week was Space Grunts. I tried it on both versions of Junk Store, a few different GE-Proton versions and a couple of different exes, but no luck so far. I’ll keep tinkering to work out what it’s missing, and might rope Eben in to help. If we crack it, I’ll be sure to pop it in a future post.
Anyways, here’s this week’s round-up of games. Hope you all can find something that might make your playlist.

Epic Games Giveaway
This week featuring RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition, Voidwrought.
This game is too much for me, which sucks because I love rollercoasters and was looking forward to creating my own theme park. It just wasn't meant to be, unfortunately. I don't have the patience for these types of games any more, but if you want to try and create your own dream theme park, then you'll be into this one.

If you're a fan of The Big Bang Theory, then the opening might remind you of Sheldon's Tibetan throat singing, hahaha. Anyway, if you enjoy games like Hollow Knight, Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights and Ghost Song (to name a few), then you'll like Voidwrought. I definitely played rather than tested this one, and it'll slot into my rotation to give me a break from my current playlist.

This week featuring Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch, Terraforming Mars.
This game had my full attention from the get-go! It's similar to Divinity: Original Sin and other turn-based RPGs. Even though it's on Amazon and I tend not to play those games much, this is one I'll add to my backlog. Just don't do what I did and forget to add members to your party before setting out, needless to say, I got my butt handed to me pretty quickly first time round.

If you've been collecting games from Epic, then you should already have this in your library. I remember testing it from Epic and it wasn't really my type of game. It works out of the box though, so if you want to try your hand at colonising Mars, then this is your chance.

Next up on the free games front:
Epic Games: Epic’s got two coming this week: I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream and River City Girls 2. We’ll get them tested once they’re live.
Amazon Prime Gaming: Nothing locked in from Amazon Prime Gaming just yet, we’re heading into a new month, so we’ll have to wait and see what’s on offer. We’ll get anything new tested as soon as it drops.
For game-specific issues, feedback, or just a chat, you'll still find us on Discord or Reddit.
As always we hope you’ve had an awesome weekend,
Annie & Eben (aka The Junk Store Team)
