About This Game
A grand strategy game covering four centuries, from the late middle ages through to the Napoleonic era, in which you can take any nation on the map and run it. You accumulate land, wealth and prestige, develop your provinces, push trade through the ports that matter, and build alliances through royal marriage or keep your options open and strike when a neighbour is weak. Progress depends a great deal on who is on the throne, since a capable monarch develops quickly and a weak heir slows everything down, and monarch power is what you spend on technology and national ideas. Hundreds of historical events fire as you go, from civil wars up to the Protestant Reformation, and you can start at any date in the range.
